Bay Area Divers SCUBA club location is in the south Houston / Clear Lake / Galveston Texas area.

BAD strives to provide opportunities to dive locally in order to improve skills and

offers affordable scuba dive trips abroad.  Check out the photos of trips and event links.

Our local dives gives new divers the chance to practice and to dive with seasoned veterans.

It provides experienced divers a reason to get wet (and we never get enough of that!)

If you are a visitor to our site and are in the Houston area, please come to our dive club monthly meeting.

The general public is welcome and encouraged to attend our activities.

BAD Member of the Month

 

January & February!
Ryan Clare
  

Ryan was Open Water certified in 2011. His wife Amanda and he joined BAD at the Divers Market in 2011. He has been diving at Mammoth Lake.

 March
PeeWee Dwire

Rodney P. Dwire (PeeWee), has been diving for 34 years and a member of BAD for 32 years. He has been on the board for 4 times. He was in charge of the Spear fishing Rodeo in 2001. His favorite activity is Spearfishing. He has always been a behind the scenes guy. If you needed help he was there. His favorite location is the Gulf of Mexico, offshore rigs and CoCo View.

Kirk Leissner
Kirk Leissner was certified in 1974
and has PADI Advanced, NASDS Open Water, NSSCDS certifications.  He's been a BAD Member for 2 yrs.  He got into diving as it was a high school grad gift.

Let's Camp & Get Wet!

 

Join us at Athens Scuba Park Memorial Weekend for diving, camping, and glow stick hunt May 26th-28th in Athens, TX. This is a clear and warm spring fed park.  We will be going before their price changes so $15/day/diver $5/day/non-divers $5/night/camping.  More info to come shortly but be sure to save the date!

Let's Get Wet!

 

Join us at Mammoth Lake June 30th 11am-6pm. We'll head to the east side of the lake to dive an area we don't usually explore. Come join us to check out your gear before that big trip this season! Come play with your new toys you got at the Divers Market!

 

We'll be providing fried and grilled chicken. Help out by bringing a side item to share. Please contact events@bayareadivers.org for more details.

PJ Campagna - By the time she finished, everyone wanted to hop on the plane to go with her on her next trip to RAJA AMPAT ISLANDS - her pictures were beautiful. She also talked a little about the nesting leatherbacks and their babies hatching.
